How Stephen Dasko Lost My Vote For Ward 1 Councillor, Let Alone for Mayor of Mississauga

As Mississaugans prepare to cast their ballots in tomorrow’s too-close-to-call Mayoral Election, here are some points to ponder: 1. In 2021, Councillor Dasko turned 180 degrees back on his 2018 pre-election promise to follow-through on a key element in the City of Mississauga’s Cycling Master Plan to install a CONNECTED, CONVENIENT, COMFORTABLE and SAFE Foot-Bike Bridge connecting SE Lakeview-Mississauga to Toronto’s spectacular Etobicoke Creek Trail – a project approved by a unanimous Council vote in 2018, financed and scheduled for construction in 2019. 2. While Councillor Dasko rightly criticized Doug Ford’s dictatorial “with the stroke of the pen” Ministerial Zoning Order (MZO) issued for developments planned and under construction in Lakeview-Mississauga, Stephen Dasko himself stopped the work-in-progress Orchard Heights Park Foot-Bike Bridge by a single email to Mississauga Parks Management Staff - a dictatorial move in all but name – which caters to a minority of Orchard Heights

Below are a couple of screen grabs that illustrate the extent to which the OHHA Facebook Group "Administrators" continue to censor information regarding the Orchard Heights Park Bridge project cancelled by Councillor Dasko in 2021 ... While Councillor Dasko's self-promoting posts and photo-ops are accorded the same unrestricted FB Page real estate as other pressing Orchard Heights issues like Speeding Cars and Trucks, Speed Bumps, Slow Street Pylons, Suspicious Persons and Vehicles, Coyote and Fox sightings, Lost Pets, Lost & Found items, etc., information pertaining to the issue of a 5-years-and-counting deprivation (since Mississauga Council's OH Bridge approval in 2018) of CONNECTED, CONVENIENT, COMFORTABLE and SAFE foot/bike access to the Etobicoke Creek Trail network for commuters, kids, families, fitness buffs and the elderly who want to Walk, Run, Bike and Roll in a car-free natural environment is censored ...
